Description
Components of the Empty 500g Assembly
When you receive an empty 500g unit, it consists of several critical parts that must be assembled correctly to function:
-
The Container: Usually a transparent, high-impact Polycarbonate cylinder. It is designed to hold 0.5kg of desiccant beads.
-
The Mounting Head: A metal or heavy-duty plastic cap, usually with a 1/2″ or 3/4″ BSP/NPT male or female thread for attachment to the equipment.1
-
The Oil Seal Cup: A detachable bowl at the base. This is the most important maintenance feature; it holds a small amount of oil to prevent the silica gel from absorbing moisture when the machine is “idle.”
-
Internal Diffuser: A tube or mesh system that forces incoming air to travel through the entire column of silica gel rather than just passing through the center.
